Water Utilities

At the City of Carrington, we are committed to providing safe, high quality water services to our community, while maintaining a standard of excellence in customer service and environmental conservation.

Water
The City of Carrington receives its water from three wells.  They are located in the Carrington Aquifer, a sand and gravel aquifer underlain by Pierre shale bedrock.  It is 12 miles long, three miles wide, and 39 to 59 feet deep.

Carrington's water treatment plant uses lime softening to treat the well water.  It can process up to one million gallons per day and has been recently upgraded to ensure an uninterrupted supply to its customers.

The Carrington Water Department supplies water to 900 customers in Carrington.  In addition, it provides water for two rural water systems, Greater Ramsey Water District and Stutsman Rural Water District.
