NDSU Carrington Research Extension Center

The mission of the Carrington Research Extension Center is to maintain and improve the region's agriculture through research on dryland and irrigated crop production, drylot cow-calf production, feedlot management and integrated crop and livestock systems.

Working for and with farmers, the staff explore innovated new systems. The goal is to maintain profitability for producers while developing sustainable farming systems, enhancing economic opportunities in rural communities, and conserving natural resources for future generations.

The headquarters building of the 840-acre Center provides offices for research and extension staff, a demonstration kitchen and a meeting room that seats 250. It also houses the North Dakota Forest Service community forester, who has statewide educational responsibilities. The facility was built in 1986 with contributions from the Bremer Foundation, Robert and Carol Reimers, and many individuals and organizations. Headquarters are located about 3 1/2 miles north of Carrington on US Highway 281. Visitors are welcome.
